Jammy Jams ~ Review AND Giveaway!

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

In the last few weeks I've started using music to help Eleanor fall asleep.  I was using a sound machine, and at nap time I still do since it's in her room, but she still sleeps in our room next to me so I needed something else.

I was using a Pandora lullaby station and it's been fine, but sometimes all the lullabies sound the same and because I usually am listening to it too, I get bored of it.

So when I had the chance to review a lullaby cd by Jammy Jams I was ready.  I was sent a code for a digital download, and the download process was pretty easy and straight forward.

Jammy Jams is a fun, modern twist on lullabies for parents who strive to create memories with their little ones while teaching them a thing or two about their own style. Soothing sounds of vibraphone, marimba, xylophone, piano, blocks and more performed and arranged by Tim Phillips and Jeff Bradford. Jammy Jams features lullaby renditions of songs originally by everyone from Jay-Z to Whitesnake, Eminem to David Bowie, Lady Gaga to The Beastie Boys!

This Jammy Jams cd includes lullaby versions of songs such as 'I will always love you' by Whitney Houston, 'We are young' by Fun and 'Wrecking Ball' by Miley Cyrus (which I'll confess to never having actually heard).  It is their newest release in a series of them with different themes (a whole cd of Lady Gaga lullabies called Coo Coo Gaga) and genres (such as Pop Goes The Lullaby).

I think it's such a cool idea, but I was curious to see how they turned songs I couldn't even imagine into soothing lullabies.  By using instruments such as the piano, xylophone, and I think rhythm sticks (is that what they are called?; channeling elementary music days here), they were able to turn the songs into instrumental versions

I actually really enjoyed it, but found myself wanting to sing along with the songs that I knew.

Eleanor seemed to enjoy it as well.  She fell asleep to it which is the intent of it, isn't it?.

You can order a cd + digital copy for $14.99 or purchase just a digital copy for download for $8.99.
